The Hall Gallery was constructed and opened in May 1991 and made possible by a generous donation by FD Hall Contractors. The gallery plays host to an eclectic mix of artists and mediums throughout the year.

Next Exhibition: PETER URSEM /June 8th - July 6th

Peter Ursem trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, The Netherlands. Twenty years ago he moved to the UK and established himself as an artist, first in Dorset and since 2011 in the Tamar Valley. The English landscape is the main theme in Peter Ursem's work, explored through printmaking, drawing and painting. Ursem’s multi-layered colour lino prints, charcoal drawings and oil paintings express a quiet intensity of landscape, sometimes referred to as ‘spirit of place’. In 2017 he showed ‘As the River Flows…’, a solo exhibition of his artworks of the Tamar Valley in Plymouth.

Peter is also a fiction writer and (as Petrus Ursem) has published two novels for young adults which take inspiration from the Tamar Valley mining landscape: 'The Fortune of the Seventh Stone’ and ‘The Truth Teller’.
