This delightful dramatisation of Laurie Lee’s boyhood memories is as fresh and as full of the joys of youth as the original.

Loll’s spirited escapades, the warmth and humour he finds in his family and  the rich variety of characters in his Cotswold village are all brought vividly to life.

Darke Visions has come about as a grass-roots response to Nick Darke’s untimely death in 2005 and a collective ambition to stimulate and inspire audiences and artists through a celebration of his legacy.

The festival partnership involves professional theatre and dance companies, writers, film-makers, schools, young people and whole communities, and is set to offer audiences unprecedented access to a wealth of Nick’s work over the coming 18 months.
